Centerpiece Fish

I was thinking bout angels, but what about my tigers, will the harass them?

Also I was in the pet shop the other day, I saw some moonlight Gouramis harrasing some angels.

I wonder will my 2 pearls do the same :dunno:

I have angels my slef and I dont think the barbs would bother them in that large of a group especially if they dont bother your pearls some of my tetra botherd my angels at first but they quit after a week

and as for the pearls its more or less a toss up

Hi Canarsie, I've got 11 Tiger Barbs in with 2 Angels in my 110 Gal tank and they very rarely bother them, so I'd say they should be fine, if they do start nipping just add a few more Barbs. Also have you thought about Clown Loaches, they're great fun to watch and a group of 4 or 5 would look great in your tank IMO.

I was thinking bout loaches, but they are mostly bottom dwellers.. I want something for middle upper part of tank. Plus i plan on adding more cories.

So would it be best for just a pair of angels or 2 pair?

2 Pair and a Large gOURAMI would be cool. I have a Gold in my 55 and hes cool

I wouldn't do angels with tiger barbs. I'm glad to see that some here are able to do it with success, but every time I've seen it or read about it, it's a recipe for disaster, especially since the tiger barbs are in there first - the angels are going to by shy and timid when you first put them in. They won't have staked out a territory or anything yet and they'd be more likely to be targets of the tiger barbs. If you get large angels, it might work better but the best way to get angels, if you don't get a mated pair, is to get a group of 6 juvies and let them pair off on their own.

Instead, maybe some rainbowfish? They get to a nice size and have lots of color. Boesemanis can be beautiful - the Turquoise are really nice too.

I second that suggestion of rainbows, very nice fish. What about a pair of keyholes, mine have grown to a lovely size.

No angels :(

Anyone else had the combo of angels and tiger barbs.

Note: I will buy 2 pair of medium to large angels, not small juvies

Angelfish and gourami's in my experience hate each other. Got a gourami once and it almost killed my angelfish. I quarantined it and took it back to the shop. Swapped it for 6 harlequin rasboras.
