every now and then i see my fish like having ceasures. thats really the only way i can describe it. whats going on with them?

Well... it could be shimmy.. if it looks like they're swimming really fast, but not going anywhere, that a sign of stress.. i'm not an expert on these things, maybe someone else have some advice

or if its two fish shaking with one another, couldnt that be breeding?

Maybe someone else knows what's happening and how to treat it..

Hope your fish arent sick..

ps. what kinds of fish are they?

Perfectly normal if you have African Cichlids, this is normally a sign of aggression or sometimes part of a mating ritual. Nothing to worry about. :)

they are african chiclids. wow i really thought that they were sick but they have been doing fine i just see them do that once in a while. i noticed that they do have like an aggression "burst" after they stop shaking and attack every fish near them. thanks so much!!

do you know of any good book that i can purchase about african chiclids?

Anything by "Ad Konigs", won't be cheap but well worth it.

Aquatics online had an offer on the ad konings book I think it was about £12 easily worth every penny.

I`m sorry but it always brings a smile to my face when members think there is something wrong with their fish when it does a shimmy. I think it`s one of the reasons why they are so interesting.
