Catfish Identification Please

Hi can any one identify the type of catfish this is please, it was given to my freind and we don't know what he is, sorry about the picture quality!

Synodontis of some sort, hard to say further than that without an idea of its size excluding the tail fin, possibly a social nigriventris or spiteful nigrita (but very hard without a better photo, there are hundreds of catfish in the Mochokidae genus.

He is about 2 inches excluding his tail fin, I don't know how old he is as he is not my fish, he some times sucks to the side of the glass and is mainly nocturnal, he is very peaceful and keeps himself to himself, thanks for your help!

He also has bristles on his lower barbs (below his top ones)

looks like synodontis nigriventris to me (commonly sold under the name "upside down catfish" a good way to tell is if it seems to swim upside down on the mid and top levels of the water most of the time as opposed to hovering around on the bottom. upside downs only max out at about 4 inches long, which is good since a lot of synodontis species get very large. I'm not 100% sure though, the picture is a little blurry.

He generally swims belly down on the sand, although he likes to cling upside down in the driftwood, I've had a look online and I'm totally confused, I'll try and get a better pic of him
