Catfish For Jack Dempsey And Firemouth?

I just looked for a compatible bottom feeder to keep with these guys and I don't see any. They're very skittish and barely come out to eat, so we need something to take up the slack. The food they're not eating is starting to mold (or whatever it does when it sits there).

Can I add some cories? Or will they get eaten? Gah!

Can't think of anything for a 20 gallon, that won't get beaten up.

Have you considered changing the food and leaving the room after feeding?

I'll suggest that to him. He's a little concerned because they barely come out at all during the daylight where he can actually see them. He set up a couple of cave-like structures with rock and they've set up territories. But it looks like the JD has taken over what used to be the firemouth cave, and the female firemouth is still outside. The female JD is at the other cave with the male firemouth in the cave.

Well, the tank is kinda way too small for them... does it at least have lots of bogwood and some hardy plants?

I used to have corys with my sajicas and firemouth. Obviously the 20G is too small for the 4 cichlids, so I would say the corys will be too big to eat for them as long as they are small enough to stay in the 20G. I had 6 3-lined corys with them.
