Catfish And Salt

i remember reading somewhere that certain species of catfish cannot handle salt in their water and ive always used salt as a preventitive treatment for my fish
can i add salt to my tank with plecos or brochis catfish?

Plecos (in my history) have been fine with aquarium salt. I do not know about brochis.

As i understand it, most cat fish dont have scales nad the salt burns the skin, same reason why they only have 1/2 dose meds.......
