Tentative ID is a tobacco hornworm. It seems to match the pics I found here.

I left it there this morning and I don't want to kill it, but we'll just wait and see how badly he eats my plant. I'm willing to let him eat a branch or two though.

Thanks. I decided to let him live since I'd love to see him change. He is only eating a few leaves a day anyway. He's gone from 3" to 3.5" in 2 days.
 
These guys grow freakin fast and turn into some cool lookin moths. :) I had a bunch that I bought that I was feeding my geckos and a few of them pupated before being fed off.
 
Well, he wasn't there this morning, so he must have turned into a pupa. I don't see it though.
 
Thanks all. I'd love to see him change, but alas I just can't find any sign of him since yesterday.
