I know it sounds obvious.

I have got a Gold gourami which is getting aggresive in my tank. I need to catch him to segregate him but my god he's fast. Do any of you have tried and tested techniques for catching fish in a tank which is decorated with rocks and live plants ?

Cheers

Just

bend the handle on the net, get your hand right next to the opening for more controll around tight corners, that or get a big net and leave it int he biggest open spot you have
feed them all right above it and after a few days when hes there eating pull it out

Throw time at it :p
I can usually catch at least one fish within six hours myself.

Some other things that may help

-Take out or plug with plastic bags hideong places
-Lower the water level
-Always use two nets

hi
as said the bottle trap works really well - do a search on google & you'll find a good diagram, but with a gourami you'll obviously need an old plastic bottle with a wide enough neck for the fish to get in, might be hard. otherwise 2 nets or one net to chase the fish into a clear plastic bag (like the ones from a lfs) ive also caught a mollie easily befor by putting some flake in our tank & scooping miss mollie up in a big plastic jug when she came up to feed - she didnt even notice what was happening.
good luck

Slightly off topic but has anyone seen this Fish Removal tool? I have wondered what kind of scam this guy has going on but I'm definitely not going to pay $6.99 especially from someone that won't let you see his feedback.

Edited to correct link.

Lol what a liar I bet all those comments are all fake if you ask me...He doesn't even have a pic of the thing!

I usually just use a net to catch my fish, usually I take out the decor if a fish gets too hard to catch, but I've caught so many over the years that most aren't too hard to catch. Loaches and some species of catfish can make the capturing process last over a half an hour, whereas I usually catch fish in a few minutes (Ambush, cornering the fish, or tiring them) :p
