In my 55 gallon I'd LOVE to get a carpet going. I believe the tank would be called low-tech, as I don't dose anything,
I've got this light: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/7011/product.web
And a bunch of miscellaneous plant types that I don't know the name of. ALl the plants are on the right side of the tank, and on the left I'd like a nice large piece of driftwood with a carpet. But I'm stuck on what plant to do as the carpet.
I like the riccia fluitans, and dwarf baby tears, but I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks!

if i were you id go for riccia or a moss of some sort. HC needs co2 to grow well and im guessing you dont want to go down that root?

I'd suggest moss on slate or ya might get away with riccia.

You can buy large amounts of hairgrass really cheap (£2-3 for a 9cm pot) from pond suppliers, would let you plant really densely to begin with.
