Hey peeps
I just got myself a new shrimp tank and am looking for a short carpet plant I was looking at Utricularia graminifolia but I'm scared that it will kill the shrimp as its carnivorous is it that bad? I'm looking for something grass like but short maybe one cm tall 2 at the most any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Adam

UG is my favourite plant! If you're in the UK check out aquaessentials, he's just got some bargain vitro cups in.
I don't think it will be that much of a problem, but don't quote me :)
HC Cuba looks well in a shrimp tank, I have it in my 8ltr

When I saw it I thought wow it's beautiful but in gonna get crystal red shrimp and I'm scared they won't last long with it I shall have a quick look at the other plant. Do u know how big the vitro cups are?

I believe about 2x 5cm pots worth :good:

I'd risk it :)

Yeah I think I'm going to I've looked on shrimp forums and they all say that it's a falasy that they eat baby shrimp as the carnivorous parts are too small

How do u grow it. I've got fluval shrimp substrate with the fluval ebi the light is really quite bright and I think I may get some liquid carbon from aqua essentials as I don't do co2 because it's another thing hanging off the tank which I think looks messy

So long as it's compatible with liquid carbon it will be the same as any other - Medium photoperiod, carbon, plenty of ferts and good flow :good:

All Ordered decided on 4 pots for my tank also got liquid carbon can't wait for it all to arrive now once it's all planted will look brill and hope it thrives

Have you got some ferts to go with your carbon?

Yeah I've got those since my older tank but never really had to use then yet as the plants I had grew well without them next time I pass the tank I'll let u know what they are called

I actually have 2 I have jbl ferropol and ferropol 24 are they alright??

Ok great delivery from aqua essentials all arrived next day now onto my question how co I plant the utricularia as in the vitro cups they have no roots I'm a little confused any one any help

I'm looking to buy some of this soon and would also like planting Info. How did you get on with It?
