Is there a moss that will carpet across sand without me pruning/replanting it?

Cheers

Tbh i think most mosses are prone to growing much faster upwards that outward so trimming and replanting may have to be done either way, they also tend to grow really slow aswell so it may take a long time lol :)

Ahh, on second thoughts, would the corys appreciate a moss bottom?

I dont think it would bother them much tbh, not sure on your lighting but have you considered somethink like HC (hemianthus callitrichoides)?

My lighting is 1wpg, and i dose TPN+, and my start dosing easycarbo soon.

Then HC is a posibilty, i have roughly that wattage on my 35ltr and even tho the HC is getting a bit leggy it is growing and spreading with me using TPN+ and DIY CO2( easy carbo will work probably better) so i guess its a possibilty for you aswell.

Will HC carpet without me replanting?

Its not that i dont want to put effort into my tank, its more that i dont fancy replanting stuff on a regular basis...

Yes m8 as far as im aware, plant in 1 cm small bunches around where you want it to carpet and it should spread, mine is and mine was sort of thrown in tbh untill i read how to plant it properly lol

Ill give it a go then sometimes. Cheers.

Good luck m8, be aware though i found under low light it does grow fairly slow and i would look into getting some easy carbo or AE's equivilent brand as a CO2 replacement.

Cheers.

I just experimented pruning my corkscrew vallis. It was getting too tall so i just lopped it off mid leaves. Ive read that it works for some and doesnt for others... Have to wait and see i guess...

No experience there m8, but at a guess i'd say it would be ok... but i guess time will tell :)

Yeah, if the leaves die, ill just remove them. No big deal as ive noticed runners coming off it and small plants growing through.
