Hi, I'm new to this part of the forum and to cichlids in general, but the other day when I was at my LFS getting food and my Striped Raphael Cat, I saw some Brichardi Cichlids. I've read the fact sheet on this website, but it didn't answer all my questions. For instance, are they shell-dwellers, or not? Do they prefer lots of rocks, or some rocks with lots of plants?

Thanks for the answers ahead of time,

GobyMaster

Neolamprologus Brichardi aren't shelldwellers, they are a schooling fish from Lake Tanganikya. They come from a rocky areas similar to the more popular Mbuna from Lake Malawi, but aren't too picky about their set up. Very interesting and personable little fish. Here's a great article on them that should answer most if not all of your questions.
