cardboard lightstrip?

im trying to make a lightstrip out of stuff that i can find around the house..hopefully itll turn out good :D ..will it be safe to make one out of cardboard? im kinna iffy about it cuz i dont know if it would catch on fire or something ..maybe im being a lil paranoid? ..i dunno.. well heres the plans ...think itll work?

i wouldnt use cardboard because of the heat factor also if there ends up being any humidity the cardbored may fall apart... why not get someone to buy you a bit of wood to make it?
 
Cardboard has no structural integrity, so it would a be idea. You're better off buying some wood from home depot, a few 4x1/2" boards by the looks of your plans. Cut it and screw it together, just make sure you use varathane to protect it from water. HTH

heat factor, yes but its going into a tank?!! what about the moisture factor??

Nice idea about using stuff around the house but please dont use cardboard, for your sake and your fish. :D
