Hello all,

This is my first time on this site and my first post.

I have a Juwel rekord 80 aquarium which I have been running since the start of this year.
Up until now I have only used plastic plants in the tank but I have just ordered some real plants which I will be planting as soon as they arrive.
My Juwel tank came supplied with an internal filter (juwel compact) which has a carbon sponge inside it.
i am planning on feeding my plants with API Leafzone and i was wondering if I have to remove the carbon from the filter for this to work?
I know i have to remove the carbon from the filter if I need to add medication to the tank so does the same apply to liquid fertilizer?

Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Matt

yes remove carbon from filtration when going planted.
not only does carbon absorb nasties from the water it also absorbs goodies like humic acids, nutrients etc.

:hi: to the forums
