Carbon Filter Media

If I put carbon filter media in my filter will it help clear up cloudy water?

yes you can.
however it may be best to find out why your water is cloudy, and fix the problem, before you try it.
i used to add a carbon only filter, to my tank, 24 hours before i did any photos.
but it is the only time i use it, as i have never had to medicate.
