hi..

i made a reactor from the power head... inside it the ceramic reactor...

i use 2 bubbles in minute and my co2 cylinder is full.. but i can't get the co2 desolved in the water..

the outlet water from my reactor doesn't have any bubles.. means that the CO2 should be desolved...

but my ph can't go down and my kh is 11 ph 7.5

on the calculator means that i've only 10 PPM of co2??

what can i do?

I sympathise! Im having similar trouble! I have just installed the red sea reactor and am currently adding as many bps as it can handle (about 3) my ph is 7.4 Kh 6 cant get the ph down any further. I did get it down using a glass ceramic diffuser before but Co2 ran out very quickly as i was really pumping the gas in fast! surface agetation is at an absolute mimimum so as not to vent any co2 off. My reactor sems to be behaving much the same as yours - no gas escaping from it. my tank is 30 gallon quite heavily planted never used to have this trouble but have always used gas VERY quickly. 1 bottle a fortnight sometimes less! (this cant be right can it?)

Yes.. it can't be right..

i dunno how do people use the ceramic reactor. and get a good level of Co2..

i found it not efective.. that's why i put it in a bottle. and the power head pumping the water in..

the out coming water seems to be fine.. no gas escape..

i know my KH is high.. but at least i should get ph 7.0

but will you tell me what kind of filteration you've?

im using an eheim external. I didnt have any of this trouble when i first set the tank up! as an experiment ive tried puttng the ceramic diffuser back on at exactly the same bubble rate as the reactor - No change in ph at all!!

How are you testing PH? I used a dip test and found that it recorded no change despite the addition of CO2, however, my JBL long term test showed the PH dropping from 7.6 to 6.8.

i need an answer... my tank wasn't like this before...

what's up??

Can't the Co2 dissolve in a water with high KH like 11?
