Can't Get Ph Up

Hi all, new to the forum, but been keeping freshwater fish my whole life....

This is kinda weird, I use API ph up to increase ph after water changes. Problem is, the ph is not increasing, it consistently stays at 6.0; I usually aim for a 6.4.

I've added 4 doeses now so far, over a few days, but still at 6.0...

Any thoughts?

What fish do you have? 6.0 and 6.4 is not really different, stability is much more important than precision. Leave it alone.

45 gal acrylic bowfront: 4 Silver Dollars, 3 Angels, 8 Serpe Tetras and 2 Albino Corrys

Guess you right, but I've never had a problem adjusting water with the additives and was curious...

What is your KH? That would probably explain why you can't adjust it.

But yes, it's not worth messing with pH, especially not using buffers.

If you have been keeping fish for your whole life, then you should know by now that Corys and silver dollars should both be kept in groups of 6+, same as the tetras, that 45 gallon is probably too small for silver dollars in the long term and that if angels are kept in 3s then often either a pair will kill the individual or the dominant one will harass the other two.
