Hi guys

I have been looking round for some artificial plants but really do not like the plastic ones. I found a lovely silk plant at my lfs but they only had one :( They do have silk plants but only liked the one, its like grass and looks quite realistic.

Just wondered if anyone has ever put artificial silk plants in from like home decor departments? Not just ones that are actually for aquariums?

Thanks very much

I wouldn't try it really. You don't know what ingredients are in the adhesive attatching the plants to any bases they may have. Or what's in the dye in the fabric. It's safer to stick with one made specifically for fishtanks. Have you tried Ebay for some plants? Real ones aren't very hard if you go for low light species. Java moss is a good one, Moss balls are great ( just drop them in and leave them) Java fern is also good, and so is Elodia ( will need trimming off the top when it gets too long ) All 4 of these will do fine under the lights that you usually get with a tank.
