i have a new roughly 2 gallon tank without heater or filter system that i want to put fish in.

what are my options for putting fish in this type of container. i have owned bettas before, but want to try something new.

any suggestions on types and quantity? :dunno:

thanks ;)

betta or a single molly or platy or maybe 2 guppies, or adf or two..... youre pretty limited for space in that size tank. much too small for even a single goldfish.

Without a filter you're going to have to do a lot of water changes, so you're kind of limited to bettas and ADFs if you ask me.

edit - probably some ghost shrimp...

no mollies, theyre a bit big. definitely no goldfish, tehy are far far far too big! how warm is your house? you'r gonna need to keep that tank warm all year round if you're keeping a tropical species in it.

yeah i agree that a goldfish would be too big and produce too much waste.

the tank will probably be around 70 F or so. water changes are no big deal, since i do them with my other tank all the time. i am just concerned about having fish that don't need an air pump or heater.

one goldfish?
NO way!
Goldfish need 20 gallons for the first fish and
10 gallons for each additional fish.

For a two gallon container (I refuse to call it a tank)
you have the option of a betta or growing plants.
