I'm still having trouble...i actually have 6...but could only catch decent photos of four of them

Fish 1....I think this one is male

Fish 2.....Totally unsure..i thought originally male but now i think female

Fish 3....i think female silver saum...but this is the most agressive and biggest of the juvis....it batters the others

Fish 4....pretty colourless for a gold saum....female?

I have 2 others that i believe are female (1 gold 1 silver)

The reason why i ask is because these guys spend all day fighting now and are getting to big to be all sharing a tank....i just want to kee pa pair but don't wanna make mistakes on sexes....none have shown any breeding behavior except for the 2 silvers when i first got them...they used to rub on eachother and gang up on the others....now one of the silvers hides amognst the plants all day and i never see it unless i put blood worms in the tank...i have a sneaky suspicion that it could be guarding eggs.....hence why the big silver is beating everythign up so much.

Which is ironic because i have 2 juvi Covicts currently guarding eggs i nthe same tank!!! lol (100 gall) so i need to start seperating stuff before i start losing stuff!

I really just want a pair of golds...the silvers in my view are ugly in comparison (and seem to be more robust) so im taking them back to the LFS on sunday.

The strangest thing of all is they all came fro mthe same batch of fry from the LFS....silvers and golds...so i think they are all Gold Saum x Silver Saum...or the Silver Saum is just a natural colour morph.

I am no expert but I think you are right with the top and second one, the last one I have no idea at all sorry. They are really lovely looking fish though.

Thanks i'm hoping i'm right about fish 1 and fish 2 because they are teh best looking..i want them to pair up

I really hope you have some success :good:

The first ones look like male. The last one female.

Fighting is part of breeding with cichlids. My blue acaras fight for a few days before the spawn.
