Hi, this might sound werid but can u put the whole of the heater in a tank? Bcause it says minimum water level? Or can it be fully submerged (including the twist temp part) ? Lol.

The minimum water level is the minimum water level, not the maximum ;)

(so yes, stick it all in... not including the plug!)

Most heaters are fully submersible, and they work better fully submerged. However, there are a few out there that have a maximum water level on them. Make sure you don't have one of those ones before shoving the whole thing into the water.

The minimum water level is just so the heater doesn't malfunction or misread the temperature of the water.

+1, it depends on the heater, but I have only heard of the latter, never seen one in person.

Ahh thanks for your replies, its the one that says minimum so i have submerged it as much as i could :)

wow never heard of a heater that can't be fully submerged... seems a bit daft to me.

Bit like having a kettle with a sticker saying do not allow to boil...

It is more like having a kettle without a whistle. It works fine hanging from the back of a tank. I must take a few pictures of mine.

These were the old style heaters. My friend and father were both shocked when they saw my heater submerged in the tank.
