what do you think any good i like it nice size if i dnt wanna betta anymore for fry but not much chance of goin of bettas ha thanks

Definitely a nice sized tank (approx 8 gallons). Perfect for a betta, and if you -really- wanted it, it could be divided to have two male bettas.

You are going to need to purchase a heater. I use a Hydor Theo 25 watt in my 5 gallon. I'm not sure what wattage of heater you'd want in a tank this size.

My betta tank is a 5 gallon divided tank. I've planted it with four different types of crypts (Wentii, Parva, Undulata and Lutea). I plan to add a couple of Terra-cotta pot caves to it this week. The divider is a DIY divider, made with a piece of craft mesh and a couple binder-things (which I don't know the name of) from my local office supply store.

Here's a few pictures:

Possie (Posiedon), the Delta-Tail Mustard-Gas Betta -- with a chomped off tail :(

Artie (Artemis), the Super-Delta-Tail Irridescent Opaque male -- always posing pretty.

Plants are:
Back outside corners: Crypt. Lutea
Back center corners: Crypt. Undulata
Front center corners: Crypt. Wendtii
Front outside corners: Crypt. Parva

nice set up there thanks for posting would you reccomend dividing it and putting two in

Its personal preference really. I divided mine because I can't seem to successfully keep bettas with any other fish. In an 8 gallon, you'll have more room to work with than I do. Keep in mind though, in a divided tank, filtration is sometimes an issue. I run two filters, each rated for 3 gallons, one on either side of the divider. Before I had these filters though, filtration was definitely an issue.

If you left it undivided, you have the option of adding in other fish with the betta (cories, etc.)

I actually got him (off all places) at PetSmart. I think he was about $15 or so - - I saw him, fell in love but still left him behind, then had to go back two days later after rearranging my tanks for him!

He is actually a little terror - - the blue/purple betta died from old age and I redid the tanks so the red/white one could be housed with a small school of cories - - he ended up killing them all and is now living the solo life.

His is still gorgeous tho!

This is my males newly divided tank (very annoying shape to divide ) tank holds 8 Gal so they have roughly 4 gal each (will finish it when my suction cups and plants arrive)
