Can anyone help with an ID please
They are a pair, a smaller one and a bigger one

Also which is the male and which is the female?

Looks like Satanoperca jurupari to me. But how do you know they're a pair? If they were, you'd certainly be able to tell which one is male and which is female.

The fish shop had them labeled wrong then, they were labeled as a Geo somthing.
I was hoping when i saw the name i would remember what they were labeled.
They were sold as a breeding pair aswell

Did they have them labelled as Geophagus surinamensis? Or Geo Brasiliensis? Which I dont believe they are? They definately look like jurupari.

i thought the geophagus jurupari was now called satanoperca leucostictus. but i just said geophagus jurupari to see if thats what the LFS had labeled it

Geophagus surinamensis, thats what they were labelled as.

Ahhh definately not surinamensis. They often mislabel the geophagus species in LFS.
