My 20 gal freshwater tank has been setup for over a year now.

3 days ago I noticed this white spot on my Columbian shark.

I'm not really sure what it might be. I know its not ick because its had ick before resulting in a lot of small spots. It's behavior is normal. I know that it will outgrow my tank. I will be transferring to a friends 70 gal tank soon.

I used maracyn for the past 3 days. No noticeable change. Should I try maracyn II or just wait it out?

Temp: 77
ph: 7.8
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5

Other inhabitants: 4 tiger barbs, a blue gourami, a rainbow fish, a yoyo loach (will also outgrow), and some kind of pleco (orange head & black stripe)

I typically do a 20% water change weekly.

Does the spot have any red, or pink area's.
Does the spot look like it filled with fluid and could burst open.
Any strands coming out of the spot.
Any indentations around the spot area.
Does the area around the spot look like the skin ulcerating away.
Has the spot just suddenly appeared.

I've seen botia pick on bottom dwellers...have you seen any signs of aggression there?

I've seen botia pick on bottom dwellers...have you seen any signs of aggression there? No. The loach is small/young and keeps to himself. I think it may have started acting weird after the ick a few months back. It will lay motionless for a while then start flicking around suddenly. The tiger barbs are the most aggressive. They tend to nip at the sharks fins.

I'm thinking the shark may have just nicked his head on a rock.. is this plausible? Thanks for your help.

It is plausable, especially with sharks as they like to root around and get under things.

It doesn't look like anything too serious. It does look like it's just a nick. He might've just scraped himself on a rock and that's all.
