Does having too many plants starve the plants from what they need?

I have put a lot in this time! But i have noticed my nitrates which have always been at 40 and come out of the tap at over 20 have gone down to 0 for the first time. Does this mean the plants wont be getting what they need and some may die?

Rob

Potentially (including trace minerals, alongside nitrate), but you can counteract that with increased water changes (assuming your tap water has what you're after in it) or fertilisation. Give them a week and you might see them settle in and not be quite as greedy.

Yeah I totally agree with the above...

You can never have too many plants!! If its the tank you have in your moss diary that isn't many plants at all compared to the journals

Cool, I have added another four or five this week, perhaps I will pop another image of it up now it is getting to a state where I am ready to leave it alone for more than one day at a time :)

Oh, that's not very many plants at all! Most likely you got a false nitrate result, test again :)
