They only grown to be 4" long, but LiveAquaria says they should be kept in a 50 gallon minimum tank. I resisted the urge to get some on impulse today, seeing as how I haven't the room for them yet, but once my 29 gallon is cycled and planted, I was thinking about keeping something I don't have many of (as opposed to the cories and livebearers). And, that said, are cories and livebearers good tank mates, or are kribs too agressive for these kinds of fish?

TFF told me to post this here. A thread on a different page answered the agressiveness question, but if I get two females, will I be able to keep them with cories and the lot? Or will the females be too aggressive towards each other in such a small tank?

I have a pair of kribs in my 29 gallon community and they are doing fine

I had a two kribs once... one killed a pair of angelfish, the other wasent as bad, then the one that killed the angelfish killed the other krib, hes now by himself after killing enough fish... so depends on the fish.. btw, this was in a 29gallon. (Young fish)

A pair of Kribs will do just fine in a 29 gallon tank. Whether you can add any other fish is a different matter, Kribs are very aggressive when spawning. It is possible to have other fish with them but tankmates must be chosen carefully.

I have known cories to be kept with them successfully but there is always an element of risk, as with most cichlids. Cories occupy the same space as Kribs, both of them spending most of their time at the bottom of the tank so they will meet often. The Kribs will most probably ignore them most of the time but again, when spawning, the cories will need to learn to stay away.
