Can This Go In My Tank?

Got this on my walk with my dog this morning and just wondering if it can go in or not? does still need a clean but thought i would ask in case someone does know

it looks like an old post and therefore will just rot in your tank, make a mess and probably will kill the fish as posts often have been put in chemicals to make them last longer.

Even if it isn't an old post it still looks like an old post

Your best bet is going to a slate quary and getting some nice pieces of slate, which is inert

the only pretty much safe wood you can realistically put in the aquarium is bog wood / monopi ( spelling ) or if you have a marine setup, driftwood. any other wood would leach saps and just rot. you may get away with going down to a stream and seeing if there are any dead roots that are just laying at the bottom - check this out though, im not 100% sure its safe to use.
