does this fixture need legs or do you stick it on a normal standard hood? Also if I get that, the 30" one over a 29 gallon giving me little over 2wpg according to plantgeek what plants could I get up to with light requirements, would it be medium, medium high, or high. I don't know if I'll have co2, if I can find it maybe, but could somebody please tell me because I'm trying to figure out up to which level I can get the plants for my tank if I use that fixture so I can bring a list with me tomorow to some far away lfs's so I know what plants to get.

Give them a call and find out? It looks like its a complete hood so it'd probably replace your exisiting one using legs, but ask

u can stick it on a clear glass hood , they should come with rubber legs but i think the stands r better if u dont have a glass hood. my came with the rubber legs and stands , despite not knowing it would come with stands , which I bot them seperately

Ok so I can use legs or put them on a glass hood if it fits over the glass part.

If you put it on legs would the water evaporate faster since the lid isn't keeping it in as much because my dad wouldn't like that?

I just talked to my dad, I can't have legs, he doesn't want all the evaporation so it will have to fit over my hood So now I have to find the right measurements or get a glass canopy.

Can I put that type of fixture over a glass canopy or standard hood or would I have problems with overheating etc. because heat can't escape from the bottom?

If you are getting a condenstation cover cant you just have the legs anyway? The cover will sort the evaporation issue, so your dad will be happy, and the legs mean you wont have to fix the lights under the existing hood, which I reckon will be more hassle than its worth.

Yes but then my dad doesn't think it's attractive, so I might only be able to buy a glass top and put on two strip lights.
