and a male too. they are not known for their tank cleaning ability though. but they will pick up things that fall to the bottom of the tank. it may also not be the best addition to a community, though this is not always the case.

Yep as Boboboy says, i added one to my community and started to notice fish dissappearing! He had munched his way through nine fish in total be the time i caught him - an then i almost had to dismantle my tank to find him! I didnt have the heart to get rid of him though - after all its just his nature.

He now lives in his own 20 gallon tank and only gets his claws on half a shrimp every other day.

lol yep that sounds familiar! community Crays when they are possible, take time and care. sadly unless you want it to become a full time job, these fantastic critters are best kept on their own. though i would say 20 gallons is a wee bit too small, especially for a mature Cray. its not uncommon for then to grow to 6 or 7 inches, and thats without their claws and antenna, the claws alone will push up the length to over 10 inches. the antenna are usually the same length as the body.

Blue Knight or Blue Crayfish. 20g is the minimum for a Blue crayfish. I had two. one lived 6 months other one lived 4 months. Both times they were in the 20g. Not the same time one after another. Will eat anything and fast.
