Can Someone Id This Gourami For Me Please

Want someone to confirm - Is this Gourami just called 'Blue Gourami'? It is about 4" at the moment - approx. 5 years old I think. It is being a pain chasing my 3 new rainbowfish - never had any problems before!

That is an Opaline Gourami - sometimes called blue.

wow thats really beautifully marked, it would look lovely with my blues lol (kidding).

A friend of mine had trouble with his gourami chasing rainbows? It settled down when he got another gourami.

defo opaline...
get another! they like pairs and agression will be directed at the other gouramis instead of your rainbows

yeah defo an opaline (blue gourami) i have 2 lovely opalalens too they have gone turquise and really deep blue patches they look stunning

Ok thanks. Yes he does look very nice its just a shame he is chasing the rainbows. Have turned the lights off now and he has stopped though! I will get another one soon. Will it not matter that the new one will be a baby and much smaller, as this one is about 5 yr old? Also is it best to get another opaline gouramie or will any type, like pearl for example, do?

Definitely get another opaline, you could find one of similar size. Do you know if it is male or female (I can't see the dorsal in the pics) get one of the opposite sex.

aying that my dwarf g chases my opalines and hes like half the size

if your guna get one its better to get the biggest 'baby' you can find if you manage to get a F/F match your lucky i have a Male/Female combo and they nip abit

im not too sure on that one as they are quite terratorial but i would say go with another opaline,what sex is yours do you know if not is it possable to get a pic of it with the fins up and out normally if the dorsal (the easiest fin to tell by) for a female is rounded at the end and abit shorter the male's is longer and pointy
