Hi, my mickey mouse platy had baby platy two weeks ago. I moved the mom platy to a smaller tank one day before she gave birth (good lord I was so lucky that I noticed her huge belly that day), and she gave birth to the first batch. Most of them were eaten but there're at least 6 lived. We moved the mom platy back to the main tank the next day. For the second batch, which should be in two weeks according to what i have read on the internet, i am planning to move the mom to the smaller tank again where the first batch baby fishes are. and move her out again after she gives birth. Is that a good plan? I mean, will the first batch platy baby eat the second batch?

Fry won't eat other fry, don't worry. Its only possible for this to happen when the fry are almost the same size as adults which at that point they should be in a bigger tank anyway :D

Thanks, I plan to move the first batch to the main tank when they are two months old. Hopefully they will be big enough then.
