Can Oxygen Affect Nitrates?

Morning

I have had a sudden rise in Nitrites -0.25 and Nitrates around 20-40.

I dont understand what has caused the rise and it is the first one in 3 months of the tank being fine.

The only thing i have changed this week is that i have put an air wall along the back!

I have started getting green stringy algae along the back wall too.

The tank is fairly near the window, could the move towards longer days and more light be the problem?

Should i remove the Algae?

Could the airwall affect things?

Any help would be appreciated

i can try answer some of those questions when i had my bubble curtain none of my cleaners would go along the back wall (because of the bubbles) and then the algae will just grow with the light..
how many hours are your tank lights on?
and if you get full sunlight for hours and hours a day through that window and its directly on the tank you would see increased algae growth.. also i cant see why you couldnt scrape the algae off
