Can one have too many tanks ???

As I read somewhere yesterday, if you set up your latest tank and it blocks the last exit from the room so all you can do now is sit in the middle of the room and watch your fish, you may have too many tanks.

LOL!, yeah, you just may have ;)

Honestly, I'd love to say there's no way you can have too many tanks ... but I dont think its true =/ I'm not coming to the point where I've already given up my desk, my computer, my shelf that I had put up for the computer and the door leading onto the roof ... I think this is really where it has to stop. Forunatuly though, the stand with the 40G & 20G on it is on wheels, so with some careful manouvring it into weird positions we can still make it out. *sigh* .... 7 tanks and already coming to a stop until I find my own house :p

Well, I don't think anyone can have too many tanks, but it looks like my landlord thinks differently! :/ I might be having some trouble soon. :X

You can never have too many tanks... as long as you have the time and the space.....

I am having visions of a future tank..... Even bigger catfish tank.... 200G+...

And thats just the start. I read on a website about a guy in Holland who was building a tank in his back garden, housed in a warehouse that was about 18x20x6 foot..... now THAT would be awesome.

Ben

you can't have too many tanks,
just a place that is too small to keep them in.

Abosolutely. I'd rather have one well maintained tank then 6 half maintained tanks. I realized my limit is 3, and after that I'm just too lazy for it :/

I have one 29 gallon in my little brother's room, one ten gallon in my little sister's room, one 10 gallon in the living room, and one 120 gallon in my room with possibly another 10 gallon in my room on my dresser.

Well I can have as many tanks as I want because like my dad says, "You can have as many fish tanks and fish as you want, as long as they don't crap on the floor and have to be taken to the vet."

Yeah i think once to start to trouble couping with them that when you have too many.

I'm comfortable with doing all the duties on my 4 tanks now after shutting 2 down as they barely ever got attented to.

Hmm ... I do have a 12,000 gallon pool in the backyard :fun: ...

I'd bet the kids would like that ... although i would have to heat it !! $$$.

The other problem I see is I like to watch the tank I have ...

So what does one do schedule time at each tank ??? -_- :p

Good Day ...

Of course you could have to many tanks. If your house looks like a fish store, or all you have time to do is change water, you know you have to many tanks.

I'm happy with 3 don't wan't anymore, you have to clean them all don't forget.

I have 4 tanks currently running in the house now. The 120 gallon and the 10 gallon are cycling now so all I have to do is test water and add the right ammount of ammonia to each tank for the fishless cycle.

Schedule for 29 gallon:
Wake up and turn lights on around 10-11 a.m.
Feed fish at around 11-12
check temps, water params-(every other day or couple days)
Check if all fish look healthy and are all accounted for

9-10 p.m. feed fish again
check temps
check fish
turn out lights 11 p.m.

Same goes for the 10 gallon

Then at the end of the week they get a 20-25% water change and a gravel vac.
