Can my pregnant fish die

Hi.
I've got tiger barbs and black widows which I've wrote about b4 coz I think they're 'pregnant'. If they don't spawn, can they die.
Will they spawn in my community tank? I realise the eggs will be eaten, I'm just wondering coz they're getting fatter and fatter and I'm worried they'll get egg bound or something. I don't want them to die.
Does it matter if they get too fat?
I don't have another tank coz my 5g has my pregnant platties and fry in it already.
Can someone help me?

I don't know much about these fish or any fish. All I know is they're getting fatter and I was told that they're probly full of eggs.
All I wanna know is if it's a problem if they wont spawn.
I'm pretty sure I've got at least one male of each fish.

Please can someone put my mind at ease or tell me what to do.

even if they don't spawn and fertilize the eggs fish will release them when they can't hold anymore. For example, if you have 2 female angelfish they may lay eggs on a leaf but they will go unfertilized and "die".
