Can I Use This Kinda Sponge?

can i use the sponge pad which normally sold as kitchen cleaning pad as the filter media for my tank?

you need to make sure its open-cell foam sponges...like what they use in sofa cushions. using kitchen sponges isnt a good idea as lots of them are treated with antibacterial agents (exactly what you would NOT want in a filter) or sopas of some sort.
go to a craft store and ask if they have cushion foam.

thank, that remind me the cushion foam does look like the fine foam in my filter. Do you know wot kind of sponge can replace the coase sponge, which normally used as biological media?

cant you just buy the filter media sponge? cheap as chips of ebay =] and even if its too big you can cut it too size =]
