I set up my new 40 gal tonight, and am waiting for the pH to drop to match what it is in the old tank. Old pH = 7.6, current pH = 8.4, tap =9+. KH is obviously low. I have an air stone running in addition to the filter, but is there any way I can make this go faster?

My fish are trapped in a 10 gal (6 tiger barbs and 3 zebra danios), and I would really like to get them in the tank tonight, before I head to bed in 30 min.

No way I know of to do it that fast. Cutiting it with R/O water would do the trick but you'd have to get the water, figure out the approximate mixture then mix it, etc. Would take more than 30 minutes to do all that.
