Becasue kribs can be aggressive, and they are bottom dwellers just like rams,n and when u put the fish in, make sure you re-arrange your tank, so the kribs wont have any territory.

ok, its been a while since i posted and lots has happened. instead of putting the kribs in a new set up straight away, i decided to trial the whole kribs and rams thing. i got another tank and set it up just in case and added two kribs to the tank with the 6 blue rams i have. i made sure the tank had plenty of caves, plants and many hiding places. the rams have been in there for a while so i was hoping this would be of benefit to them. the kribs i got were smaller than the rams still :) this is the way i wanted it. in the tank there is also, 4 tiny angels (who can be moved if needed), 6 neon tetras (these can also be moved if needed), 2 ottos, pair of BN, 1 red wagtail platy and some 1" electric yellows who are growing up a bit before they go into the african tank. they are surprisingly quiet little buggers :) they seem to be the least agressive of everyone in the tank. that may change as they grow but they only need to be an inch or so bigger before they can go in the african tank.

anyhoo, everything is going well. its day five and the kribs have taken up residence in the big sunken ship ornament at one end of the tank and the blue rams still patrol the whole tank. they do have their hang out spot for when they are not on the move which is at the opposite end of the tank to the kribs. theyve checked each other out and on of the rams chased one of the kribs into its ship and that was the end of any probs. since then everyone has just gone about their business. obviously i will keep watching them and making sure that they dont turn agressive especially if they start the breed etc. but the other tank is ready for someone to be put into it if needed.

fingers crossed it keeps going well :good:

If you get more than a pair of Rams, what kind of female to male ratios would you say or would it not matter? Do female Rams squabble with each other?

Thanks.
