Hi everyone,
I'm moving and have three tanks: 5.5, 5.5 and 10 gallons. All three each have a single betta. Right now we're on city water (which I use water conditioner) and am moving to a home with well water.

Would it be okay to take the three bettas in cups of city water and float them in the well water and slowly acclimate them into the well water over a day? Would that shock them too much?

I cannot transport 20+ gallons of the city water to my new home. The distance is too great. . .plus, that just seems a bit neurotic.

Any ideas?

The well water has a PH of 7. (no ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)

Thanks.

Well water is generally harder than surface source water, with a higher pH. While chlorine & such is not an issue with a private well, metals are, so using a water conditioner that deals with heavy metals is a good idea.

I would drip acclimate, aim for doubling the water volume every hour for about 3 hours.

Thanks everyone. From my earlier testing, it seems the well water has a lower pH than the city water. I'll just drip acclimate them and keep my fingers crossed :)
