While waiting for my aquarium to cycle I am researching fish I would like to buy. Now to the question - as my tank is fairly small, can I have 1 angelfish? or will it be all stressed out and everything if it is by itself? because when I just got my blue gourami female she was very shy and didnt come out until I got her the male a week ago and now she is all over the aquarium

Quite simply, no. Angels get large and agrresseive, 35 gallon minimum. Sorry.

I have to disagree, most breeders use 29's divided in half and keep a pair on each side. I use 20 highs for breeding my angels. So imo 1 angel would be fine. Just don't add any fin nippers to the tank.

turle is correct, as long as the tank is a tall, with no fin nippers, one angelfish will be fine
