I know the stuff on the rock to the right is Java Moss...but other than that I have no clue what the others are. I was told something was water wisteria...but nothing looks like the pics I found on line.

the plant at the front is rotala, i think the ones next to the moss may be crypts, but im not too sure.

Off to a great start. I agree with the rotala identification. the moss looks a bit light to be java, but it could be a simple lighting issue.

Could we get some closer macro shots of the other plants individually?

Anything I can do about that? It came that way, no algae in the tank... I've had it for two weeks...and it seems to be getting bigger...any advice?

Um... no. If I had moss like that I'd sling it straight in the bin.... but if it arrived like that I would be very annoyed with the seller, and I'd be demanding a refund or replacement that isn't covered in algae.

It's been in my tank for two weeks, I don't see algae anywhere else...I bought it off craigslist, and I didn't know any better. I'm very new to all this. I should toss it?

Ick. I am annoyed for you at the tiny bits of wisteria and short Rotala too. Hope they didn't break the back...at least the rotala is full and pretty, while short.

You can put it in a bowl on your windowsil for awhile and try and get the algae to die off. I have some on mine that I just toss some water in once in awhile...It's gone all green and lovely again...just don't know where to use it yet. :)

The moss, I mean
