My three kuhli loaches are happy and healthy, but I know that they will be happier and healthier with maybe 2 more kuhli loaches to play with them. But I don't know if my tank can support another two loaches, even if they have low bioloads.
My stocking is

6x Pink Jewel Tetras
2x Peacock Gobies
2x Sparkling Gouramis
3x Kuhli Loaches
2x Cherry Shrimp
2x Amano shrimp

My tank is 20 gallons, filtered by a Marineland Penguin BioWheel 250 Filter, stuffed with media, carbon, and Purigen. Regular 4 gallon water changes every week. Planted, sand bottom.
Also regarding the Pink Jewel tetras, they turned out to be too aggressive against each other. I'm going to not keep restocking them as they begin to die off of old age, and I am looking for a new schooling fish. I am looking for small, schooling, peaceful fish. I have been thinking

8-10x Cardinal Tetras
or
8x Praecox Rainbows
or
8x Furcata Rainbows

or any other similar fish can also go. Recommendations and advice wanted! Thanks!

Stay in school!

But as to your questions, I think three more kuhlis would be good. The shrimp add virtually nothing as far as bio mass. I would go with one of the rainbows, but the cardinals are better shoaling fish.

I am in school! But not at the moment :p

I am planning on getting loads more shrimp, since i got a bunch of moss and pellia i ordered online :hyper:

As for compatibility, would they be ok with gouramis and gobies? I Don't want aggressive fish :good:

Any advice on Emperor Tetras? They look nice

Ah emperors... One of my favorite fish. Never had an aggressive one, except males showing off to each other. A school of 8 would be awesome, though they tend to loosely shoal rather than school.

Anything you've listed should be fine with your peacocks and sparklers.

Ah ok, just making sure

Keep finding contradicting sources on the web, saying that Furcata Rainbows are aggressive fish or they are peaceful. Then it would say that Praecox are too active for anything less than 30 gallons, then state its minimum gallonage is 20 :S

Furcatas are a bit nippy with each other, never seen them bother other fish. Might not want to keep them with a long fin betta, but they would do well in your tank, imo.
I have my praecox in a twenty high, 24x12 and they seem quite happy.
