Im getting a 60x18x18 tank and was wondering if i could have an oscar and a plec in this with anything else?

Ive been reading around about Oscars after falling in love with one at the LFS.

Trouble is, every site says different to the next so i thought id ask you guys who actually have the fish!

so is the tank big enough?

could i put anything else in there?

last question that mite be stupid.

i have 2 angel fish. can they go in with an oscar?

havent seen them in any compatible tank mate lists but havent seen anyone say it was bad either.....

Yeah I was wondering the same thing! I have my little oscar in a small aquarium right now. I'm waiting for my new 55 gal to get settled, just set it up last night. I also have a beautiful Pleco I saw at the store at the same time I bought the tank, and its in with my betta. I really want just one other fish to put in the tank. Lets see if anyone else has any suggestions.

PS: My friend's mom has an oscar and and angelfish in the same tank...they've been together a million years, but they always fight. It doesn't seem like a good idea...but they are still alive somehow. :p

Yup, just remember that 2 oscars is different then a pair of oscars. The best way to achieve a pair is to start with 4 or 5 juvi's and grow them up together until a pair forms, considering that they are impossible to sex young and even if you could, putting a male and female together doesn't mean they'll be compatible.
