hi

I live in a realy old house (about 180 years old) I was planning on getting a fluval roma 240 and was wondering if i could keep it on the second floor. I was under the impression 1 litre= 1 kilogram. So thats 240 kgs but with the actual tank, stand equiptement, im guessing 280-320kgs. thanks

depepnds on flooring. positioning, dimensions of the room? try getting a builder mate to come in and give it a check. prob ok on own but not too sure.

i have a 110 litre on 2nd floor on top of slim wooding flooring with a bit of padding underneath it think.

If your house is that old, is it not a listed building? Not sure I'd risk it!

personally i would give it a miss, with the weight of the water tank stand and equipment its gonna get very heavy.

I would have to side with catfish4ever on this one, and get someone in to inspect the floor to see if it well hold the weight. The building code was not around then and houses we just built to stand up… lol Good luck hope your tank works for you.

Yea don't do it, not only might the floors not be strong enough, but they defo won't be level and they will sag towards the middle of the room, as in away from the walls, so your tank will lean inwards! Sod that for a game of wash the carpet!
