Can I add more?

Too often, when fish die after only a year or so, it is assumed that that is how long they live.
They can live longer, much longer, but usually their lives are cut short, buy having to live in a stressful tank situation.
Fish life spans can actually be counted in many years, when they are allowed to exist in good tank conditions.

My bad for being cruel I had no idea. Just curious what do I do now that I have them? Should I sell them?

This can be problematic. Perhaps the fish store will just take them, without reimbursement (?). Or another hobbyist?

Don't feel bad, this problem happened to many (if not all) of us especially before the days of fish forums where one can ask first before acquiring. Since the 1980's I have had multiple tanks, so problem acquisitions could at least be separated out if necessary. Though I do still research thoroughly any fish I see in a store that I do not already know about. Just three or four weeks ago I came across "Bonita Tetras" in a local store, and not having seen them before, I went home and found the description of this new species, Moenkhausia bonita. Not much else to find yet, as it is a relatively new species discovered in 2004, but it was enough for me to pass on acquiring them.
