hi,my tank/stocking is as follows

jewel rio 240 tank size 48 inches x 16 inches x 21 inches
jewel internal filter
eheim pro 11 2028 external filter

lots of bogwood
lots of plants

ph approx 6-6.5

8 x congo tetras
10 assorted rainbows
12 assorted corys

do i have room for anymore fish???if so,all suggestions welcome.

could i add any rams/kribs????

you have plenty of room and more than adequate filtration
a pair of rams or kribs will be fine

i wouldn't mix kribs with cories as IME kribs don't take kindly to other bottom dwellers, rams would be a better option IMO.

:good:

when you guys reply, could you say how many fish, plus male to female ratio please.thanks in advance :good:

i'd say with rams to get a pair 1m 1f.

then you could add more fish, top mid or bottom dwellers? any area in particular? any species? any colour? anything you have in mind?

:good:

no jayjay i dont have any fish in particular.throw all your suggestions at me

just some more fish that arent the same as any i already have

jayjay -kribs arent really bottom dwellers , at least not in the same way as cories. given adequate shelter ie caves , a pair of kribs imo would do fine with cories.

the tank is 21 inches high.

ALL FISH STOCKING SUGGESTIONS MOST WELCOME

PLEASE MAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS THERE ARE BOUND TO BE SOME I HAVENT THOUGHT OF

COULD YOU ALSO SAY HOW MANY YOU WOULD ADD.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY MORE I CAN ADD BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MY TANK FULLY STOCKED

THANKS ONCE AGAIN

furryrabbit, kribs are known for attacking bottom dwelling fish especailly a breeding pair and i have also experienced this.

i would add angels (2), rams(2, 1m/1f), bristlenose plecs? (2, 1m/1f)

:good:

sounds a really good combination jayjay.could i add a red tail shark?????

are there any more combinations of fish you can think of????

8 x congo tetras
10 assorted rainbows
12 assorted corys

I'd add to that
4 or 5 marbled hatchets not silver hatchets as they tend not to stay at the top
a pair or ruby rams, rather than german/blue/gold (good point on the kribs not liking bottom dwellers)
or a pair of apistogrammas vejitta or vejitta II
then a nice pleco like L007/L128/L200/L204 or whatever tickels your fancy

HTH

if i didnt add the hatchets(sorry not for me) what could i add in their place wolf????

ps any good algae eaters you wou;d suggest as i have lots of algae on my plants.

i would go with the l200 i love there colouring.

a rtbs could work aswel.

maybe keyhole cichlids? a pair 1m 1f

a syno brichardi (just something i've wanted for a while now)

maybe carindals? shoal of say 10

instead of hatchets , danios?

:good:
