Can Females Live In Smallish Tanks Like Males?

Neither should be in small tanks really. But females do far better in groups of 5-7+

Yes they do, if you look at any breeder they have sorority tanks of large groups of females, i know many people who keep then and have absolutely no problems, no fighting what so ever.

Breeders are different, any fights are usually for dominance and not as serious as a male vs. male fight, keeping tanks of females saves space and money. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it's beneficial- look at people who have success keeping multiple males together.

no fish should be kept in a small tank, for bettas i like to give them atleast 5gallons, 3 at the smallest. ive kept females together in larger tanks with hidy holes with no problems. (6 females, all sisters) females can be kept on their own or in large groups, but like i said eariler, not too small tank.if females are kept together in small tanks, problems are likely to occur

When I had a sorority tank with a particularly quarrelsome female, I moved her to her own 2.5 gallon tank shere she was active and appeared "happy".

Kl,the only reason i ask is that i dont have any room in my main tank for a betta so i could get a smallish tak for her...Im after a CT female but cant find anywhere near where i live, but hopefully LFS get some in cause apparently they get some nice ones! My dads a bit scared of getting them off aquabid.com,i wish there was an aquabid.co.uk  :shifty:
