i have always used shrimp to be my bottom dwellers of my tanks but with my new 55 gallon i want to try emerald corys. can they live in those water perameters or no? thanks in advance:)

We have to think logically with an answer here, ideally no they really aren't 'completely' suited...however, if we chose fish only for complete compatibility then we would be very limited on fish choices.

On the other hand, ive known many people breed various cory's in a higher than ideal PH and they have successfully raised thousands of fry.... so tbh, i would say go for them, acclimatise a little longer than usual just to avoid any sort of problems and then just see how they react over a period of time :).
