Hello,

I have 10g tank with milder form of Columnaris which I am battling now with PimaFix.
It helps a bit but it looks I will have to try some antibiotics to get rid of it.

I also have new 29g tank which I want to start cycling using filter media from my 10g tank.
Can Columnaris be transferred to new tank through this filter media?
What about plants and gravel from old tank?

Thank You

How long has the 10gal been set up, is it fully cycled?

Matt

I don't know the answer to your question but if it were me I would start over. It takes more time but you will be sure to start with no disease in the tank. ( except for what the fish you buy brings.) Don T.

Yeh I agree with don, and there is not much point really if the tank is not fully cycled and there is no point risking spreading the Columnaris.

10g tank is just 4weeks old but all readings are OK due to sponge from LFS I put to my filter - when i did that 3weeks ago within 24h amonia and nitrites went to 0.

I hope I can at least start transferring my plants giving them first a dip in 19:1 (bleach:water)?
