As far as I know tis alway sold as a bunch plant, because its a stem plant to there is little point the shop getting it to grow roots in a pot as it just needs pruning after a while, so they just sell it as bunches of stems

O so it's possible that I have some in my tank? Because I bought some a couple months ago and it only grows up towards the light and grows really slow and dies a lot since I only have a 50w bulb.

Hmm... doesn't sound like cabomba to me. I just got 2 bunches, and they're growing like weeds. That's with a 55w on a 55 gallon tank! Your profile tanks are listed smaller, so yours should be doing very well? It does grow upwards towards light, and produces very very fine, white hair-like roots at points along the stems. Do you have a picture you can post? Sounds more likely that you got some hornwort? That also grows quickly though, but makes a HUGE mess in a tank. It doesn't root, just floats around.

I LOVE my cabomba. And it's grown about 1.5" in a week!

Any pics of the plant in question?

I have to admit, i read this post last night and agree it doesnt sound like cabomba, mine is in 3wpg light but grows like wild fire !

I meant I onely have a 20w bulb not 50w (wish I did though). If it's hornwort it doesn't grow much at all then and if it is then I have both types of hornwort then. Sorry no pics my dad hasn't gotten a digital camera yet, I'm working on it though.
