Hi guys. I've decided that rather than buying new stupidly priced sponges to go inside the standard filter fitted in my juwel rio 180 o might be better off getting a new filter. The standard filter is also looking fairly tatty so would be a good time to change it.

Im quite keen on getting an external filter but have no idea what to go for. I'm on a budget and don't really want to spend more than £60.

So is it possible to get an external for that kind of money? If not then which internal filter would you reccomend?

Many thanks in advance :good:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was actually looking at the fluval u4 before I created the thread. And I think if I do go for an internal that will quite likely be the one.

That all pond solutions external looks like great value for money. Is the uv worth paying the money for? Or is it just a gimmick? Thinking about saving 10 quid and getting the one without.

I had the all pond solution 2000 model with the uv. Never used the uv though as it didn't make any noticeable difference when I did use it so I turned it off. Save yourself the £10 and go for the normal one :)

Take a look on ebay. I just got two eheim classics for around 60 posted! Means I will be selling my 3 month old u4, Nothing wrong with it, just wanted external. Bargains are everywhere if you look!
