My dad was talking to the guy from pets at home and saw these guys in a tank with some mean looking cichlids. He decided to be a hero and buy them for a price of £3 each. The guy said that no one has any idea what type of fish they are so he said they are cheap because they don't know how much the price tag for them should be. They were getting chased all the time in the other tank, in my tank they seem calm and swim around stress free. Can anyone identify these fish so that I can pass on the message to the guy in the fish shop because he has 5 large ones in a 300 gallon tank and would like to know what kind of fish they are.

yeah, why?
I have a feeling that I have done something wrong
Not to be mean...but do you not read ? Over and over and OVER you ask the same question.People answer and tell you that your tank is overstocked, get rid of fish and yet you add more and then act shocked when they start attacking each other.

Do whatever you feel is right.Obviously you won't listen to anyone on this forum. You just keep rephrasing the question and keep ignoring the advice.

Good luck...you'll need it.

I've got rid of my pegassius, my glass catfish, and my severum is going tomorrow. I can't see how my tank is overstocked when all I will have in there tomorrow is

2x "convict"
1x friend's parrot
1x bristlenose pleco
2x yo yo loach

Plus I'm going to upgrade to a 50 - 60 gallon tank in the next month anyway. They have loads of room to swim and loads of hiding places and bar the severum everyone seems to be getting on no problem.
Plus, as I said before. It was not me who bought the fish. It was my dad. If I give back those two fish and when i have to give back my friends parrot I will have a 50 - 60 gallon tank with a pleco and two yo yo loaches. :dunno:

to me it looks like a white krib. never seen one of those before so maybe its not.

looks like a convict

mabe though if you dont want the advice dont ask the questions

u need to take away fish not get more.I aprreciate you were trying to help but you have made a big mess if those are what youve got.good luck

Nope, that's not a Kissing Gourami. I have one, and it doesn't look much like that. The mouth doesn't have the same shape, and neither do the fins.

I'd say Convict, or some other similar cichlid.

My first thought was kissing gourami, but I didn't know what a convict looked like. Going from the link, it does look like this in shape, esp dorsal (? top) fin.

But the picture is really poor so it's not that easy to tell.

pink con is a very very likely choice but the pic is so blurry and grainy it is really hard to tell, but based on the overal body shape from what I can see a pink con would be a very good guess. as to their agressiveness, ime it is very over rated, so long as it isn't in there with a mate and breeding it would be fine.
